Dua Upon Seeing the New Moon (Hilal)
Recited at the start of every Islamic month upon sighting the Hilal. Sourced according to Aala Hazrat Imam Ahmad Raza Khan (رحمۃ اللہ علیہ) & Sunan at-Tirmidhi.
اللَّهُمَّ أَهِلَّهُ عَلَيْنَا بِالأَمْنِ وَالإِيمَانِ وَالسَّلاَمَةِ وَالإِسْلاَمِ رَبِّي وَرَبُّكَ اللَّهُ
Transliteration: Allahumma ahillahu 'alayna bil-amni wal-iman, was-salamati wal-Islam, Rabbi wa Rabbukallah
English: O Allah, bring this new moon over us with security, faith, safety, and Islam. (O Moon!) My Lord and your Lord is Allah.
اردو: اے اللہ! اس نئے چاند کو ہم پر امن، ایمان، سلامتی اور اسلام کے ساتھ طلوع فرما۔ (اے چاند!) میرا اور تیرا رب اللہ ہے۔
Muharram-ul-Haram
Forbidden / Sacred Month — One of the 4 sacred months in Islam.
The first month of the Islamic calendar. A sacred month featuring the Day of Ashura (10th Muharram), recommended fasts, and the commemoration of Hazrat Imam Hussain (radiyallahu anhu).
Safar-ul-Muzaffar
Successful / Victorious Month — Named Safar (empty/whistling wind) in pre-Islamic Arabia, but blessed in Islam.
The second month of the Islamic calendar. Aala Hazrat and Ahle Sunnat scholars strongly refute all superstitions attributing ill-fortune or calamities to Safar.
Rabi-ul-Awwal
The First Spring — The month of the birth of the Master of Creation (ﷺ).
The month of Mawlid-un-Nabi (ﷺ). Highly venerated by Ahle Sunnat Muslims worldwide for celebrating the birth, Seerah, and virtues of Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ).
Rabi-ul-Aakhir
The Second Spring — Associated with Giarhween Sharif of Huzoor Ghous-e-Azam (radiyallahu anhu).
The fourth month of the Islamic calendar. Widely associated among Ahle Sunnat with Giarhween Sharif and Esal-e-Sawab for Sheikh Abdul Qadir Jilani (radiyallahu anhu).
Jumada-ul-Awwal
The First Parched / Dry Land Month.
The fifth month of the Islamic calendar. A month for steady spiritual consistency, optional fasts, and Quranic study.
Jumada-ul-Aakhir
The Second Parched / Dry Land Month.
The sixth month of the Islamic calendar. Known for the commemoration of Hazrat Abu Bakr Siddique (radiyallahu anhu).
Rajab-ul-Murajjab
The Honored / Dignified Month — One of the 4 Sacred Months (Ashhur-i-Hurum).
The seventh month of the Islamic calendar. A sacred month featuring the Night of Isra & Mi'raj (27th Rajab) and the Koonday of Hazrat Imam Ja'far Sadiq (radiyallahu anhu).
Sha'ban-ul-Mu'azzam
The Exalted Month — Month of the Prophet (ﷺ) and Shab-e-Barat (15th Sha'ban).

Ramadan-ul-Mubarak
The Month of Burning Away Sins — The Holiest Month of Fasting, Quran & Laylat-ul-Qadr.
The holiest month of the Islamic year. Obligatory fasting (Roza), 20 Rakat Taraweeh, Laylat-ul-Qadr (Night of Power), Itikaf, and Zakat-ul-Fitr.
Shawwal-ul-Mukarram
The Month of Uplifting / Elevation — Features Eid-ul-Fitr and Six Fasts of Shawwal.
The tenth month of the Islamic calendar. Begins with Eid-ul-Fitr (1st Shawwal) and includes the highly rewarded Six Fasts of Shawwal.
Zul-Qa'dah
The Month of Truce / Sitting — The 1st of the 4 Sacred Months in sequence.

Zul-Hijjah
