Hilal (New Moon) Dua for Rajab-ul-Murajjab
Recited upon sighting the new moon at the beginning of the month.
اللَّهُمَّ بَارِكْ لَنَا فِي رَجَبَ وَشَعْبَانَ وَبَلِّغْنَا رَمَضَانَ
Transliteration: Allahumma barik lana fi Rajaba wa Sha'bana wa ballighna Ramadana
English: O Allah! Bless us in Rajab and Sha'ban, and allow us to reach Ramadan.
اردو: اے اللہ! ہمارے لیے رجب اور شعبان میں برکت عطا فرما اور ہمیں رمضان تک پہنچا دے۔
📖Overview of Rajab-ul-Murajjab
Rajab-ul-Murajjab is the gateway to Ramadan. Rasoolullah (ﷺ) made the famous supplication upon the sighting of Rajab moon. Aala Hazrat Imam Ahmad Raza Khan (رحمۃ اللہ علیہ) highlights Rajab's sanctity as an Ashhur-i-Hurum month.
Rajab is one of the four sacred months explicitly designated in Surah At-Tawbah (9:36) and Sahih al-Bukhari (4662).
⭐Special Significance
The 27th Night of Rajab is celebrated for Shab-e-Mi'raj — the miraculous Ascension of Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) to the Heavens where 5 daily prayers were gifted.
