The unique status of Salah is also shown by how it was ordained. All other acts of worship (like Fasting, Zakah, and Hajj) were sent down as revelations to the Earth through the Angel Jibreel (Gabriel). However, Salah was different.
To ordain the daily prayers, Allah (SWT) raised the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) to the heavens during the miraculous journey of Al-Isra' wal-Mi'raj. There, above the seven heavens, Allah spoke directly to His Prophet and commanded the daily prayers.
