Episode 02 — Unveiling the Wisdom Behind the Three Events

Khidr accepted Musa's companionship on one strict condition: "If you follow me, do not ask me about anything until I make mention of it to you." (Surah Al-Kahf 18:70).

As they boarded a ship without paying fare out of respect for Khidr, Khidr deliberately removed a wooden plank from the boat. Musa, driven by justice, questioned: "Have you scuttled it to drown its people?" Khidr reminded him: "Did I not tell you that you would not be able to have patience with me?"

Next, they encountered a young boy playing, and Khidr brought an end to his life. Musa questioned again: "Have you killed an innocent soul?" Khidr repeated the warning.

Finally, arriving at a town that refused them hospitality, Khidr repaired a leaning wall that was about to collapse without asking for food or payment. Musa remarked: "If you wished, you could have taken a payment for it."

At this point, Khidr declared: "This is the parting between me and you. I will now inform you of the interpretation of that over which you could not have patience."

1. **The Ship**: It belonged to poor fishermen. A tyrant king ahead was seizing every sound boat by force. Damaging it temporarily saved their livelihood. 2. **The Boy**: His parents were devout believers. Had he grown up, he would have dragged his righteous parents into rebellion and disbelief. Allah decreed to replace him with a virtuous child. 3. **The Wall**: It belonged to two orphan boys in the city. Beneath it lay a treasure buried by their righteous father. Allah willed for the wall to stay upright until the orphans reached maturity to claim their inheritance.

Khidr concluded: "And I did not do it of my own accord. That is the interpretation of that over which you could not have patience." (Surah Al-Kahf 18:82).
