Imam Ahmad Raza Khan, revered across the Islamic world as Aala Hazrat ('Great Presence'), was born on 10th Shawwal 1272 AH (14th June 1856 CE) in Jasoli, Bareilly Sharif, Uttar Pradesh, India. His family possessed a distinguished lineage of scholars and noble warriors.
From early childhood, Imam Ahmad Raza exhibited extraordinary intellect and memory. At the age of just 4, he completed reading the Holy Quran. At age 6, he delivered an eloquent public sermon on the occasion of Milad-un-Nabi (ﷺ).
Under the tutelage of his father, Allama Naqi Ali Khan (رحمة الله عليه), young Ahmad Raza mastered Arabic literature, Persian, Hadith, Quranic exegesis (Tafsir), Islamic jurisprudence (Fiqh), mathematics, astronomy, and logic.
At the young age of 13 years, 10 months, and 4 days, Imam Ahmad Raza completed his formal graduation in Islamic sciences and issued his very first Shar'i Fatwa regarding fosterage rulings. Impressed by his precision, his father entrusted him with the responsibility of Dar-ul-Ifta (Issuing Fatawa).
The defining pillar of Aala Hazrat's life was his intense, unshakeable love (Ishq-e-Rasool) for the Final Prophet Muhammad (صَلَّى ٱللَّٰهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ). He authored immortal Na'at poetry in Urdu, Arabic, and Persian compiled in 'Hadaiq-e-Bakhshish', including the world-famous greeting 'Mustafa Jane Rahmat Pe Lakho Salam'.
