Episode 01 — The First Truthful Companion

Before Islam, Abdullah ibn Abi Quhafa — known affectionately as Abu Bakr — was a respected merchant in Mecca, famed for his gentle nature, deep genealogical knowledge, and refusal to participate in idol worship or alcohol consumption even during the Jahiliyyah era.
When Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) received divine revelation and called his closest friend to Islam, Abu Bakr accepted without a moment's hesitation. Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) later said: "Whenever I invited anyone to Islam, they hesitated or debated, except for Abu Bakr. When I presented Islam to him, he accepted immediately without doubt."
Abu Bakr immediately began spreading the message among his trusted friends. Through his efforts, major companions such as Uthman ibn Affan, Zubayr ibn al-Awwam, Talha ibn Ubaydullah, and Sa'd ibn Abi Waqqas embraced Islam. Furthermore, Abu Bakr spent his vast fortune buying and freeing persecuted Muslim slaves, most famously purchasing Bilal ibn Rabah (R.A.) from his cruel master to give him freedom and dignity.
